Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors Fly as an Injury to Wilson Chandler Threatens the Deal
Wilson Chandler is one of the major pieces of the rumored Carmelo Anthony trade that is in the works between Denver, New York and Minnesota, but an injury could scrap the deal and force the sides to start over.
The New York Daily News reported that Chandler is experiencing discomfort in his left ankle, the same ankle that Chandler had surgically repaired. He may need surgery in the offseason to correct the issue and if that happens, it's his third procedure in three years.
This is a huge red flag for the Nuggets and a big cause for concern if you're the Knicks. Chandler has been great for New York this year, and if you're Denver and you're trading away your superstar, you don't want to get damaged goods in return.
I know that this trade is part of a rebuild, but you at least want to be competitive after a trade and if Chandler is going to be dealing with these issues, you can't trade for him.
