Carmelo Anthony, Phil Jackson Discuss Comments Executive Made About Knicks Star

Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson have been engaged in a contentious public feud since the New York Knicks president called out his star player for being a ball-stopper in a Dec. 6 interview with CBS Sports Network, but the two reportedly met Saturday to hash things out.

According to Newsday's Laura Albanese, Anthony and Jackson convened before the Knicks' practice in Los Angeles to quell some of the tension that has cropped up over the past five days.

"He's got to be careful with the choice of words that he uses," Anthony said, per Albanese. "He understands that; he knows that."

Anthony also told reporters he presented one big question to Jackson during their back-and-forth Saturday:

That was my question: why? Regardless of what was the context of it — interview or conversation — just why? Regardless of what you said, why every time my name comes up? Regardless of what we're doing. He explained that. For me, it's been behind me since two days ago. At this point it ain't no need for me to keep harping on the same situation.
