Carmelo Anthony Injury: Updates on Knicks Star’s Ankle and Return

Carmelo Anthony, the catalyst of the New York Knicks, is nursing an ankle injury suffered on Tuesday night against the Boston Celtics.

Anthony's Ankle X-Ray Results Revealed  Tuesday, Jan. 12 X-rays on Anthony's right ankle were negative, announced the Knicks. 

Anthony scored 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in 18 minutes before exiting. 

Anthony sprained his ankle in a December game against the Orlando Magic, but to that point he’d played in all but one game this season.

Anthony’s attrition was well-chronicled last year when he battled injuries and played through pain that eventually culminated with season-ending knee surgery in February.

Before then, the most games he’d ever missed in a season was 17 in 2006-07 while playing with the Denver Nuggets.

The Knicks are much improved from their franchise-worst season a year ago but still hover the .500 line and are currently outside looking in on the Eastern Conference playoffs.
