Carmelo Anthony Hits Side of Backboard After Blatant Flop by Marcus Smart

During Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart had what could be the Flop of the Year.

As 'Melo backed him down, Smart dropped. Perhaps he was trying to draw Carmelo Anthony's second flagrant foul of the game, but it was still awful.

Then, with his defender having flung himself to the floor, Anthony attempted a turnaround jumper—and hit the side of the glass.

Uh, good effort, guys.

After Boston won, 97-89, Detroit Pistons rookie Stanley Johnson called Smart the league's premier flopper:
