Carmelo Anthony Elected to NBPA Executive Committee

New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony can add another job to his resume after being elected to the National Basketball Players Association Executive Committee, which the NBPA announced Friday.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical first reported the news.

According to B/R's Howard Beck, Anthony will be replacing Willie Green since Green is not currently in the NBA after his contract expired at the end of last season. 

Beck also reported the NBPA re-elected Golden State stars Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala and Cleveland's James Jones to the executive committee. 

The NBPA is led by Michele Roberts and a nine-player leadership group, with Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul currently serving union president. 

According to the organization's official website, the NBPA ensures "that the rights of NBA players are protected and that every conceivable measure is taken to assist players in maximizing their opportunities and achieving their goals, both on and off the court."
