Carlos Boozer Breaks Hand, Out Eight Weeks

Just when Chicago Bulls' fans were getting their hopes up, they were dealt an early blow.

Newly acquired starting power forward Carlos Boozer will miss the next eight weeks after suffering a broken right hand.

Cbssports.com is reporting that the broken hand will require surgery for the 28 year old veteran, and that he injured that hand on Saturday on the team's day off.

This will certainly be a huge loss for the Chicago Bulls because Boozer will not only miss all of the pre-season games, he could potentially miss the team's first 16 games of the regular season if he misses the full eight weeks.

Missing this much time will hurt the Chicago Bulls dearly because they needed this time for Boozer and the rest of the Bulls to mesh together in offensive and defensive rotations.

The Bulls do have last year's rookie standout Taj Gibson to take his place, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are active in attempting to acquire more front court depth in the coming weeks.
