C.J. McCollum Injury: Updates on Blazers Guard’s Finger and Return

Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum will miss at least the next four weeks after suffering a fracture to his right index finger in Monday night's 102-93 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced Tuesday.

McCollum, 23, is averaging 5.0 points and 1.1 assists per game this season, his second in Portland. The No. 10 overall pick in the 2013 draft, McCollum's pro career has been mired with injuries. He was limited to only 38 games as a rookie due to a fractured foot and struggled to get acclimated after his recovery.

Working as a backup to Wesley Matthews, McCollum was again struggling to be a consistent bench scorer in 2014-15. He's hitting 37.2 percent of his shots, struggling particularly inside the three-point line. McCollum has made only five of his 19 shots from inside. The former Lehigh star is shooting a solid 45.8 percent from beyond the arc and has emerged as a solid floor-spacer.

Will Barton and Allen Crabbe will likely see an increase in minutes with McCollum sidelined.
