C.J. McCollum Doesn’t Care What Old-Timers Think About NBA Mouthpiece Trend

As silly as it may seem, some basketball fans get annoyed when they see NBA stars play with their mouthpieces on the court during games.

Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum doesn't care what those haters say. Not in the slightest.

On Sunday, Twitter user Nate Jones caught the Trail Blazers star's attention by tweeting that he recently found out some older hoops fans take issue with the fact that today's players don't keep their mouthguards in their mouths:



Apparently that's a thing.

For those who may be a bit confused, the mouthpiece trend is best represented by two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, who likes to shoot free throws with his mouthguard hanging out of his mouth:



This is something McCollum is more than OK with, so don't even try to argue with him about it:



The 24-year-old guard is just having some fun. Fighting over something like how to play with a mouthguard would be silly—but you have to respect his willingness to defend the latest trend.
