Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott's future is understandably up in the air amid a woeful 2015-16 campaign, but his job status may well be safe until the end of the season.

Scott Reportedly on 2.5-Month Trial to Save Job Tuesday, Feb. 2 Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times provided the update on Scott's status, citing sources "close to the organization."

So obviously Scott's squad has to show signs of improvement down the stretch. In the midst of a 10-game losing streak, the Lakers sit at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 9-41 record.

Criticism has arisen with regard to how Scott treats the younger players, according to Bresnahan, but the 54-year-old coach is rather set in his ways.

"I am who I am," said Scott. "Pat Riley wasn't easy on us. Larry Brown wasn't easy on me [in Indiana]. I think that's the reason I was successful because I had a coach that pushed me and tried to get the very best out of me. ... I want to push them to things they've never done before. If that's being too tough, so be it."
