Jerry Stackhouse looked absolutely terrified as he sang the national anthem before Game 1 of the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls first-round NBA playoff series.
But ultimately he sang a lot better than the Bulls played.
There were a few sharp notes. If I'm doing my best Randy Jackson impersonation, I'd say there were a few pitchy moments. But all in all, he did a solid job.
I've certainly seen far worse...Roseanne Barr anyone?
His Nets put on a show as they dismantled the Bulls 106-89 before a sellout crowd at the Barclays Center.
This wasn't the first time Stackhouse sang the national anthem before a game. He has also lent his voice to the pregame ritual as a member of the Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks.
He is obviously a man of many talents. In addition to an 18-year NBA career, Stackhouse has also done some TV work. The 38-year-old obviously has a few avenues to pursue when his playing days are done.
Here he is belting out the Star-Spangled Banner in 2010 as a member of the Mavericks.
