Bucher Buzz: Possible NBA Landing Spots for Billy Donovan

April 11th, 2015 by Team Stream Now Leave a reply »

Billy Donovan has enjoyed a successful career during his 19-year tenure as the University of Florida's head men's basketball coach. He's guided the Gators to two national championships, four Final Fours and four SEC tournament titles, along with seven regular-season SEC championships.

Like many successful college coaches, Donovan flirted with the idea of taking the leap to the pros back in 2007. Just days after accepting the Orlando Magic's head coaching position, however, he backed out to return to the Gators.

Eight years later, there isn't much left for Donovan to prove in college. With the various head coaching openings in the NBA, there could be a fit and mutual interest on both sides for him to make the step to the NBA.

Watch as Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher breaks down the suitors that may be interested in Donovan's services and the chances that he would coach in the NBA in the video above.
