Bryan Colangelo: ‘Whether or Not We Win Games Is Not the Issue’

Probably not what Toronto Raptors season ticket holders wanted to hear.

But its true.

This is supposed to be a retooling year and we can look toward the future with optimism due to the collection of young talent Bryan Colangelo has assembled for the Raptors.

Bryan Colangelo recently said this to the Associated Press:

"Whether or not we win games is really not the true issue right now, it's how much we're growing as an organization, how much these young kids are coming along."

It is refreshing to see that Bryan Colangelo understands this and his comments also lead one to believe that he is not done reshaping his lineup and that there are likely more trades in the works.

As Colangelo stated this year should not be about winning and playing veterans trying to achieve that result; rather this season is about the development of our young players and changing our teams culture.

We have already seen our core of Andrea Bargnani, DeMar DeRozan, Sonny Weems and Amir Johnson make strides this season and we are still awaiting Ed Davis' regular season debut.
