Brook Lopez Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation on Nets Star

The Brooklyn Nets are off to a lackluster 8-11 start and now it sounds like a major shakeup may be on the horizon. Brook Lopez is one of the big names reportedly on the trade block.     

Marc Stein and Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com report no agreements are considered imminent for any of the available players, a group that also includes Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. Interestingly, it's also noted the team isn't simply trying to eliminate salary:

Yet sources insist that the Nets haven't abandoned their recent 'win-now mentality' and aren't merely looking to dump salary. Brooklyn's hope, sources said, is eventually to construct a deal or two that bring back sufficient talent that enables the Nets remain a playoff team.

Normally when a team puts multiple veterans on the market it's an effort to get younger, acquire some draft picks and look toward the future. The Nets are seemingly going a different route with the hope of avoiding an extended rebuild.

Lopez, who's currently sidelined with a back injury, is averaging 16.1 points and 6.2 rebounds in 16 games so far this season. Those numbers are down ...
