Brook Lopez Injury: Updates on Nets Star’s Foot and Return

Brook Lopez's bad luck continued as the Brooklyn Nets center suffered a foot injury on Saturday. However, X-rays were negative, and the big man is expected to make a return in the near future.

Lopez's Timeline For Return Revealed Sunday, Nov. 8 Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported Lopez "is expected to return to lineup this week."

Lopez Once Again Dealing With Foot Problems Since appearing in 82 games in each of his first three seasons, Lopez has been plagued by injuries. The 27-year-old missed the final 61 games in 2011-12 because of a broken foot and missed 65 games in 2013-14 with more foot problems. 

Foot injuries can be career-ending issues for big men. Yao Ming's foot problems started in 2005, continued on and off for the next five seasons and forced his retirement at the age of 30.
