Potential. It's a word you're going to hear a lot over the next month leading up to this year's NBA draft. You'll hear analysts break down the "potential" that many prospects possess. The potential to be great, the potential to dominate, the potential to be a franchise saver. But as we've seen, potential only gets you so far. There have been many players with "unlimited potential" who seemed to fall by the wayside once they entered the treacherous waters of the NBA. Some just don't pan out for whatever reason and some succumb to the flaws that were overlooked in the pre-draft process. It's true, if you are a young up and coming NBA draft prospect, the dreaded phrase you never want to hear associated with your name is "red flag." There are dozens of reasons a player could be flagged. Be it lack of effort, lack of consistency, lack of production, the list goes on and on.
