Boston Celtics Have To Re-Sign Both Glen Davis and Kendrick Perkins

Next summer, when free agency hits, a lot of teams are going to be trying to figure out how to acquire Chris Paul and/or Carmelo Anthony. 

The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, are going to focus on retaining their two young big men. Glen Davis and Kendrick Perkins are set to become free agents after this summer. 

Davis has been utilized as a reserve for the Celtics. He knows his role and remains prepared for when head coach Doc Rivers calls his number. The 6'9", 290 pound forward has also shown flashes of brilliance when filling in for Kevin Garnett.

Perkins has developed into one of the top post defenders in the game. His ability to defend opposing big men by himself has enabled the Celtics to do a lot more on defense. The 6'10", 280 pound center is the unheralded member of the starting line.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Davis is 24 years old, while Kendrick Perkins is 25.

Considering their skills, size, youth and a lack of quality big men available, these two guys will certainly draw a lot of attention in free agency.
