Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin was tossed from Thursday's showdown with the Chicago Bulls at United Center after he drilled Chicago Bulls big man Taj Gibson in the face midway through the third quarter, as seen below:

Griffin appeared to try to hold Gibson up after making contact with his head, and as CSN Chicago's Vincent Goodwill noted, the foul may not have been worthy of a flagrant-2 designation:

Although the Clippers mustered just 35 points in the first half and trailed by 10 entering the fourth quarter, Griffin was one of the team's few bright spots.

Before getting tossed, Griffin totaled 18 points (7-of-14 shooting), 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 25 minutes to notch his fourth straight double-double.

Thursday marked the second time this season Griffin's been tossed from a game. His first ejection came after picking up two technical fouls for arguing with referees in a November loss to the Phoenix Suns. Griffin also entered Thursday night leading the NBA in technical fouls.
