Attention David Stern: Set Example That Guns and Sports Do Not Mix!

"Another gun. Another athlete. Same old thing."

That's what many people are saying right now after the Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton gun fiasco.

If I were a pro athlete in any sport, my blood would be boiling because their antics have further stereotyped pro athletes as spoiled, gun-toting prima donnas. And that is not fair to all the athletes out there who are respectable, law-abiding citizens who are grateful they can earn a living playing the sport they love.

It's not just the NBA, either. Don't forget the Plaxico Burress nightclub incident. The actions of a few are tarnishing the image of many.

David Stern, you have a chance to set a precedent for all the professional sports leagues to follow.

If an investigation positively proves Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton did in fact draw guns on each, then both should be banned from the NBA for life. It's that simple. We can't let kids see this type of behavior not be punished. It has to start somewhere.
