Atlanta Hawks’ Lou Williams Lets Josh Smith Fly with Sick Alley-Oop

Lou Williams continues to make a case for his Sixth Man of the Year award candidacy with the Atlanta Hawks as he gives Josh Smith permission for takeoff with this huge alley-oop against the Chicago Bulls Saturday night.

Williams is going to have a pretty good shot at that award if he keeps scoring, racking up assists and getting the crowd off their feet like this.

Hell, if he's going to be able to get Josh Smith to attack the rim, rather than settle for jumpers, then he is going to need some serious consideration for the award.

The huge basket came when Chicago was trailing by just three points at the time, but from then on it seemed like Atlanta had complete control the rest of the way.

This alley-oop put them up by five points, which increased to 16 points by the end of the half, and even further to 26 points by the end of the third quarter.

The Hawks have relied on this type of teamwork all season long in order to make up for the loss of Joe Johnson, and it's worked wonders through the first third of the NBA year.
