Amar’e Stoudemire Injury: Updates on Knicks Star’s Recovery from Knee Surgery

Amar'e Stoudemire is still in the process of recovering from offseason knee surgery, but the New York Knicks forward said Tuesday that he would not rule out a return to the lineup when the team tips off the 2013-14 NBA regular season.

Newsday's Al Iannazzone spoke to the 30-year-old forward Tuesday, who indicated he expects not only to play in the opener but also return to his dominant form:

Amar'e said it's possible he will play in the season opener Oct. 30 and he believes he can dominate again.

Smith would not join the team for its first three preseason games, per NBA.com insider Adam Zagoria. New York will be traveling around the country for much of the preseason, so keeping the injured stars back home did not come as much of a surprise.
