Amar’e Stoudemire Injury: Updates on Knicks Star’s Knee and Return

New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire is no stranger to injuries and he's now dealing with another one. The forward is dealing with knee soreness and will miss Saturday's game against Sacramento, the team announced:



Stoudemire will miss tomorrow's game as well, per News10's Sean Cunningham:



It's a disappointing setback for player and team alike.

Stoudemire, who's averaged just 47 appearances the past three seasons and watched his minutes get reduced in an effort to keep him healthy, was optimistic coming into the season. Marc Berman of the New York Post passed along his comments about a return to form and the starting lineup.

"We'll see," Stoudemire said. "Obviously to reach back to my dominant self, I feel I'm there now. I feel my body is feeling so much stronger. I feel dominant. We'll see what the coaches do."

Although it would prove difficult to play like the imposing post presence of his peak seasons, he was still an important piece for the Knicks.
