Amar’e Stoudemire Dunks Twice in a Minute, Including Smash on Luigi Datome

November 19th, 2013 by Sean Hojnacki Leave a reply »

Amar'e Stoudemire has not even been healthy enough to play in back-to-back games, so fans have not expected much from him. That's why no one could have predicted his thunderous slam over Luigi Datome in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Amar'e rose up and flushed it home with vintage form, abusing the Italian like he had a vendetta.

The first slam clearly got his juices flowing, and he was suddenly feeling like it was 2010 again.

On the ensuing possession, Stoudemire headed for the hoop and received a deft pass from Pablo Prigioni. As he barreled to the basket unguarded, Stoudemire rose up and dropped the hammer on the basket.

He dunked it was such authority that he kicked his knee up, though thankfully it didn't collide with anyone's head. This cannot and will not be expected from Stoudemire very often, but it's nice to see he still has some hops and can give us glimpses of the player he once was.
