Alan Williams to Suns: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction

After initially signing a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns on March 8, forward/center Alan Williams agreed to a multiyear deal with the team Friday, per NBA.com.

Williams, who is a Phoenix native but played his college ball with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, has played in just one game so far this year, logging one point and a steal in two minutes of a 103-69 loss to the Utah Jazz on March 17.

Prior to coming to the NBA, the 6'8", 260-pound Williams dominated the Chinese Basketball Association as a member of the Qingdao DoubleStar with a league-leading 15.4 rebounds and 20.8 points per contest. He also averaged 20.5 points and 11.8 rebounds during last year's NBA Summer League with the Houston Rockets.

David Pick of HoopsHype.com thinks the Suns may have found a gem in Williams, tweeting that UC Santa Barbara's all-time leading rebounder has "huge upside."
