As I watch the Boston Celtics completely dismantle the Orlando Magic in Game 3 of the Conference Finals, I can't help but think about how far they came this season.
Before the playoffs even started, critics were saying that the Celtics are too old and weren't capable of competing with younger teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic.
Who could argue with facts?
With the average age being 29-years-old, the Celtics are in fact one of the oldest teams in the league.
Their "Big Three" is Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett are all older than 30-years-old (34,32, and 34 respectively). Not to mention Rasheed Wallace is 35 years old.
Despite their age, the Celtics have fought throughout the playoffs to take a 3-0 lead in the Conference Finals.
The Big Three showed us that their team deserved their number four seed in the Eastern Conference. We have watched before our eyes these three players fight to show people that age is only a number. They are fighting to prove to people that no matter how old you are, experience, determination and heart overcome everything else.
