Aaron Gordon Injury: Updates on Magic PF’s Ankle and Return

The Orlando Magic have gotten off to a surprisingly strong start this season, but an injury to second-year forward Aaron Gordon's ankle will temper some of the excitement.

Gordon Out vs. Denver Tuesday, Dec. 8 According to Dante Marchitelli of Fox Sports Florida, a sprained ankle will keep Gordon off the court for Tuesday's game against the Denver Nuggets.      

Injuries have been the defining story for Gordon since the Magic made him the fourth overall pick in 2014. He appeared in just 47 games as a rookie because of an assortment of ailments, not including an offseason incident with his brother in which he suffered a fractured jaw. 

The good news for Orlando is Tuesday will mark Gordon's first missed game of this season. He's looked much more comfortable off the bench so far, averaging 7.7 points and shooting nearly 47 percent from the floor to go along with 4.9 rebounds in just 19 minutes per game. 

The Magic also have depth at power forward to withstand a short absence by Gordon. Channing Frye can play the 4 or 5, and Andrew Nicholson is having the best season ...
