A Chat With Some Kings of Sacramento…From a Fan’s Perspective

The event known as the Second Saturday Art Walk has become a staple to the Midtown community in Sacramento. The city is typically a quiet and reserved one, for which each second weekend it comes alive. The downtown area is crawling with people out and exploring the various vendors, art shows, and eateries that streets J and K have to offer. Second Saturday, as most refer to it as, has breathed life into an area thought to be dead in the water by some. As such, the Sacramento Kings have followed suit and host their own event, Kings on L, which is an event where people can meet the players, get autographs, and pose for pictures. The players were at another event just down the street at Sapporo Japanese steakhouse. A select number of people were invited for the meet-and-greet event complete with complimentary food. Kings draftees DeMarcus Cousins and Hassan Whiteside, along with second year player Omri Casspi were at both events and I got a few moments with each player to ask them a few questions.
