2011 NBA Playoffs Predictions Give Memphis Grizzlies A Fighting Chance Against San Antonio Spurs

Memphis and San Antonio split their season series at two and the NBA's best team will not be too excited if they have to play the Grizzlies in the first round.

Since the All-Star break Memphis has won two of three against the Spurs and knocked off Dallas, Oklahoma City, Indiana, Boston, and New Orleans en route to a 14-8 record.

The Spurs continued to play good basketball until Tim Duncan went down and they lost six straight games (five of which were against playoff teams) until regaining form and winning their last four.

They locked up the one seed, have a ridiculous 36-5 record at home and are one of the most experienced teams in the postseason.

Yet, as we are only three games away from the postseason, these two teams (which are not assured a matchup yet) could be heading for a first round series.

ESPN.com's Bill Simmons recently unveiled his power poll and writes of the No. 11 Grizzlies, "Sometimes you just have to shrug your shoulders and enjoy the ride. I would not want to play Memphis in Round 1. At all."
