2010 NBA Summer League: Top 10 Performances from Las Vegas

With LeBronmania and Heat Fever sweeping the nation, the Summer League period came and went with a whimper in terms of national media coverage. Regardless of coverage, fans flocked to Las Vegas in order to get their first glimpse at first rounders John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Evan Turner. While some (namely Turner) floundered, others (Wall, Cousins) flourished in their first taste of NBA action. While these games are ultimately meaningless and are no true indication of future performance, scouts can often find glimmers of hope or validation of their assessments. In addition, Summer League is useful for young players on the verge of a breakout season to hone their skills. Elsewhere, Summer League also provides a platform for journeymen, beleaguered former first rounders, and D-Leaguers to showcase their skills in hopes of getting an NBA camp invite. Combine the rookies, second-third year players, and the desperate group, there are bound to be some great games and performances.
