The NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest Has Officially Jumped The Shark

The NBA, Sprite, and ballers that participated in the 2010 Slam Dunk contest should be ashamed of themselves.  I have never seen such a boring, uninspiring, and cash-grabbing spectacle as what I watched Sunday morning.

Even Charles Barkley was bad-mouthing the competition.  Demar Derozan of the Toronto Raptors should have stayed in Canada to witness the Olympics.  Nate Robinson, while I was writing this article, was well on his way to winning his third Slam Dunk championship. 

If anyone actually texted their vote they should be refunded their money. 

On second thought, if anyone was dumb enough to text in their vote, any money spent on doing so should be given to Sprite for sponsoring this train wreck.

As I finished writing, Charles Barkley said "maybe no one will win", just before Nate Robinson was given the title.  At least Robinson was happy he won.

Another great Barkley quote: "Nate may say he brought his A game, but he won it with his B game".

I'm just glad it's over.  That's about thirty minutes of my life I'll never get back.

David Stern needs to put this one out of it's misery.
