Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is off to a spectacular start to his 2016-17 campaign, setting a new franchise record for the most points (105) a player has scored through the first three games of any season, per Sportsnet Stats.
DeRozan obliterated the old record during Monday's 105-102 win over the Denver Nuggets, breezing past the previous franchise-best marks set by Vince Carter in 2000-01 (84 points) and Chris Bosh in 2009-10 (93).
DeRozan has scored 32 or more points in each of Toronto's first three games, highlighted by a 40-point showing against the Detroit Pistons in the Oct. 26 season opener.
It helps that the team has played each of its three games at home in Toronto, with the only loss coming by a three-point margin (94-91) to the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Despite missing each of his four attempts from beyond the arc, DeRozan holds a .534 field-goal percentage on the season, with 42 of his 74 two-point shots (56.7 percent) falling true, in addition to 21 of his 23 free-throw attempts (91.3 percent).
