Paul Millsap Trade Rumors: Latest News, Speculation Surrounding Hawks PF

Atlanta Hawks power forward Paul Millsap is facing the possibility of being dealt away from one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.

On Friday, Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com reported the Hawks and Phoenix Suns have "pondered" a deal that involves Millsap and a "collection of picks owned by [the] Suns."

According to ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst, the Hawks are looking to be active in the trade market to clear cap space in an effort to re-sign center Al Horford. 

With the Hawks agreeing to a three-year, $70.5 million deal with center Dwight Howard on Friday, per ESPN.com, they have some work to do if they want to bring Horford back.

Per Spotrac, the Howard signing would bring the Hawks' projected payroll in 2016-17 to around $79 million, which leaves the team with only $15 million to work with for the rest of the offseason. 

Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted a max deal for Horford would reward him with a projected $26 million in the first year alone, and it only goes up after that.
