Anderson a Stretch 4 Who'd Fit with Wizards Monday, June 27 J. Michael of CSNMidAtlantic.com reported Monday that the Wizards are coveting Anderson after Kevin Durant excluded Washington from his list of desired open-market destinations.
Anderson played for the New Orleans Pelicans over the past four seasons and averaged 17 points per contest on 36.6 percent shooting from three-point range in 2015-16.
Given that Durant was born in Washington, D.C., and his former Oklahoma City Thunder coach, Scott Brooks, is now leading the Wizards, the team made sense on paper as a landing spot for the four-time league scoring champion.
Unfortunately for Washington, Durant won't be having a homecoming for the prime of his career.
Michael also reported that one NBA general manager said Anderson's market value may be around $17 million, which is a steep price but at least isn't the max contract Durant would've commanded.
