Memphis' Worry Could Be 'Good News' for Knicks

Begley described that concern as "a bit of potentially good news for those [New York] Knicks fans interested in" the point guard because Knicks general manager Steve Mills and head coach Jeff Hornacek both called "point guard [a] position of emphasis for New York this offseason."
The Knicks—and any other team interested in Conley's services this offseason—will not be able to match the Grizzlies if the latter offers a max contract. Begley noted Memphis can offer the 2007 No. 4 overall pick "a five-year deal worth approximately $124 million," while others can present him with "a max contract for four years worth approximately $92 million."
Begley also reported Grizzlies minority owner Justin Timberlake will be involved in recruiting efforts to keep Conley in Memphis, where he has played all nine of his NBA seaso ...
