Point guard Mike Conley is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the Memphis Grizzlies' front office is reportedly "growing a bit concerned" he won't return, per Ian Begley of ESPN.com.

Memphis' Worry Could Be 'Good News' for Knicks Tuesday, June 14 Begley described that concern as "a bit of potentially good news for those [New York] Knicks fans interested in" the point guard because Knicks general manager Steve Mills and head coach Jeff Hornacek both called "point guard [a] position of emphasis for New York this offseason."

The Knicks—and any other team interested in Conley's services this offseason—will not be able to match the Grizzlies if the latter offers a max contract. Begley noted Memphis can offer the 2007 No. 4 overall pick "a five-year deal worth approximately $124 million," while others can present him with "a max contract for four years worth approximately $92 million."

Begley also reported Grizzlies minority owner Justin Timberlake will be involved in recruiting efforts to keep Conley in Memphis, where he has played all nine of his NBA seaso ...
