Klay Thompson Injury: Updates on Warriors Star’s Leg and Return

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson suffered a thigh contusion against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he collided with Timofey Mozgov's knee in the first quarter of Game 3. However, he has been cleared to return to the game.

Thompson Cleared to Return Wednesday, June 8 The Warriors announced Thompson will return to the game.

Thompson went into the locker room immediately following the injury, per Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area.

Thompson suffered a sprained ankle during the team's record-setting start to the 2015-16 season, but it was hardly a major concern for a squad stacked with depth on the wing. 

Thompson is a key cog in the league's most dynamic offense. Therefore, losing him for any period of time would have hindered the team's spacing and overall efficiency.  

But as his brief early-season absence proved, Golden State can adapt if the injury resurfaces.
