The San Jose Sharks are hoping the defining moment of the Stanley Cup Final took place in overtime of Game 3 when Joonas Donskoi scored the winning goal at the 12:18 mark to give them their first-ever victory in the NHL’s championship series—a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Penguins led twice, and a third time would have seen them going for a sweep Monday. Instead, the Sharks are listed as -140 home favorites (bet $140 to win $100) for Game 4 of the series at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
San Jose improved to 8-1 in its last nine home games, while Pittsburgh fell to 2-3 in its past five on the road. The Penguins had been tied or held the lead for the entire series until Donskoi’s goal, which is all the Sharks needed to put themselves into position to even things up at 2-2 heading back to the Consol Energy Center for Game 5 on Thursday.
