Stop us if you've heard this one before: The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are facing off in the NBA Finals.
In a rematch from last season's championship series, the Warriors and Cavaliers are at it again, and this year, the Cavs have their full complement of players. The Warriors took Game 1 at home in convincing fashion, winning 104-89 on Thursday night.
According to Ben Cafardo of ESPN, Game 1 of the Finals set a record for viewership on ABC; Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated then provided some context for that rating:
The sharpshooting Warriors backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson came back to earth Thursday, scoring only 20 total points while shooting a combined 8-of-27 from the field. However, the Dubs reserves swung the game for the defending champs. Shaun Livingston led the way with 20 points, and the bench as a whole outscored the Cavs backups 45-10.
