Kevin Durant Helps Clear Path for Paramedics Stuck in Traffic

The Oklahoma City Thunder don’t start their Western Conference Finals showdown against the Golden State Warriors until Monday, so Kevin Durant had some extra time to help paramedics on Saturday.

According to Joleen Chaney of News 9, Emergency Medical Services Authority paramedics were caught in rush-hour traffic in Oklahoma City until Durant helped them navigate the gridlock.   

Paramedic Peter Radford explained the situation, per Chaney: “We were stuck in traffic, so pretty much cars surrounding us all over. All of a sudden, I see a silver Ferrari or a silver sports car pull in behind us. … I see this Ferrari has its flashers on. It's actually making way for us to get through and navigate all the traffic.”

While Radford said he didn’t recognize Durant on sight (his partner told him who the famous basketball player was), he was pleased to receive the help, per Chaney: “He waves to me. I just thought that was so cool that someone like [Durant] would take the time to assist this emergency vehicle getting to an emergency call.”
