Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry became the first player ever to be unanimously voted NBA MVP, which the Association announced Tuesday.
Former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady said during an appearance on ESPN's The Jump (via B/R's Mike Freeman) that Curry's status as a unanimous MVP speaks to "how watered down our league is."
Curry's game has been scrutinized by former NBA players most of the year.
Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson stated in an interview on ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike in February (via Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media) that Curry's success is the result of current NBA coaches' inability to properly coach:
If I've got a guy who's great shooting the ball outside, don't you want to extend your defense out a little bit? I just don't think coaches today in basketball understand the game of basketball. They don't know anything about defenses. They don't know what people are doing on the court. They talk about analytical basketball and stuff like that.
