Blazers 108, Clippers 98—Final
The Portland Trail Blazers scored 37 fourth-quarter points to outlast the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 108-98 in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Damian Lillard netted 16 of his 22 during the final frame, helping the Blazers take a 3-2 lead in the first-round Western Conference series. C.J. McCollum tallied a game-best 27 points.
Portland struggled offensively for most of the night, but Moe Harkless (19 PTS, 10 REB) and Mason Plumlee (10 PTS, 15 REB, 4 AST) carried the team until Lillard and McCollum owned the final 12 minutes.
Los Angeles, which was without Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, stuck around until midway through the fourth quarter when the Blazers ripped off an 11-1 run, extending their advantage to 17.
J.J. Redick paced the Clippers with 19 points, while Jamal Crawford and Jeff Green added 17 each. DeAndre Jordan registered 16 points and 17 rebounds.
