The New York Rangers are breathing a sigh of relief. Henrik Lundqvist is feeling much better and may be in the lineup Saturday afternoon when the Rangers try to even their first-round NHL playoff series with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Lundqvist took a stick through the eye hole of his goalie mask in the first game of the series between the Rangers and Penguins; Antti Raanta replaced him at the start of the second period.

There were fears that the injury was serious, but Lundqvist was back at practice for the Rangers on Friday, and New York Post hockey columnist Larry Brooks tweeted that Lundqvist had no issues at practice:



Lundqvist also reported  that the practice session had gone well. "We're taking it day-by-day here, but the practice was good," Lundqvist said to the media (h/t Scott Burnside of ESPN. "But I'm very pleased with the way it felt."

Even if Lundqvist plays, it may not be enough. The Penguins were the sharpest team in the league during the home stretch of the regular season. Pittsburgh won 14 of its last 16 games heading into the playoffs, and the Penguins have gotten a lift ...
