ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported Wednesday the Sacramento Kings are planning to fire head coach George Karl, which means the team is about to have a vacancy this offseason.

It's almost easier to list the coaches not linked with the Kings at this point.
According to Hoop-Ball.com's Aaron Bruski, Mark Jackson won't be among the contenders for the Kings' head coaching position when it becomes free. Stein, however, included Jackson among his list of possible replacements for Karl, with Kevin McHale and Vinny Del Negro also in the picture. He added that the Kings are considering Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks but acknowledged the chances of hiring either coach are slim.
According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, Sacramento will pursue David Blatt, Jeff Hornacek, Boston Celtics assistant coach Jay Larranaga and Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Kenny Atkinson.
