In a game that unexpectedly came down to the wire, the Golden State Warriors (71-9) edged the Memphis Grizzlies (42-38) in a 100-99 thriller on Saturday at the FedEx Forum.
Draymond Green led the way for the Warriors with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. His energy in the second half kept the Warriors alive just long enough for a couple of threes to finally put them over the top.
Klay Thompson added 20 points, while Stephen Curry went for 17 on 7-of-22 shooting (3-of-14 from downtown).
The Grizzlies were led by Matt Barnes, who scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Vince Carter added 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
The Warriors now need to win their last two games to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' record of 72-10. They play in San Antonio against the Spurs on Sunday and close the season at home against these same Grizzlies on Wednesday.
