For years, Oklahoma star Buddy Hield has idolized Kobe Bryant.
After the Sooners defeated Texas A&M, 77-63, on Thursday, the senior chatted with the Black Mamba during the Duke-Oregon game.
Back in January, Spenser Davis of OU Daily wrote a piece on Hield’s fascination with the Los Angeles Lakers star. One quote from the Sooner, in particular, stood out:
I like his swag on the court and the killer mentality he brings to the game. He’s going to score a bucket on you no matter who is in front of him or whether it’s two or three guys, he’s going to find a way to get a bucket. I love that killer instinct he has.
Based on his performance in the NCAA tournament, Hield certainly has at least a little bit of Bryant in him.
Thanks to Hield's average of 26.7 points, the Sooners are heading to the Elite Eight.
