Charlotte Hornets forward Marvin Williams is recovering from a sprained left ankle, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Williams Out for Tuesday Night's Contest vs. Nets

With Williams sidelined, Bonnell reported that Frank Kaminsky would get his second NBA start on Tuesday night. Head coach Steve Clifford told Bonnell that he hopes Williams will be able to return to action on Friday against the Detroit Pistons.
Williams, 29, has had a solid season for the Hornets, averaging 11.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 29.1 minutes per game. His rebound and block totals are both career highs.
Williams' injury, if it costs him more than a game or two, will be an opportunity for Kaminsky to prove he deserves more playing time. Kaminsky has averaged 7.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 20.9 minutes per game but hasn't been able to unseat Williams as the starter, who has started all 70 of the team's games to this point at power forward.
