This save by Philadelphia Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth is so unbelievable that Minnesota Wild players were in the midst of celebrating what they thought was a game-tying goal when they realized the puck never actually made it to the back of the net.
The Flyers were leading 3-2 with just seconds to play in Thursday night's game when the Wild's Charlie Coyle put a shot on net that appeared to send the game to overtime. However, a great lunging effort by Neuvirth denied Coyle a goal—and saved the game for Philadelphia.
Watch the play a few times to get a grasp on how great of a play it was by the goalie. The puck was on the line when Neuvirth managed to get his stick on it. And yet, it never actually made it across the line to be considered a goal.
"I knew I hit it with my stick but I wasn't sure if I had the stick behind the goal line," Neuvirth said, per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. "I've made saves like that sometimes in practice but it was huge for us."
