Charlotte Hornets center Cody Zeller left Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after suffering a shoulder injury. On Saturday, the team's public-relations department confirmed an MRI revealed a sprained ligament in his right shoulder.

Zeller to be Re-Evaluated in 1 Week

According to the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell, Zeller's injury is to the same shoulder he had surgery on last April.
Unfortunately, the Hornets can ill afford to lose Zeller at this point in the season. Center Al Jefferson is already out of action after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, and Zeller's injury means Spencer Hawes is the team's lone healthy center.
Hawes can fill the void to a degree with his long-range shooting, but his rim-protecting credentials remain in question. With that said, the Hornets have been a staggering 6.3 points better per 100 defensive possessions with Hawes on the floor this season, per NBA.com.
