After losing a triple-overtime heartbreaker at home on Tuesday night, the Anaheim Ducks reaped their revenge with a 2-1 regulation win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 3 of the NHL's Western Conference Final on Thursday.

The win gives the Ducks a 2-1 lead in their third-round Stanley Cup playoff series.

Both teams showed good energy in the first period after their marathon Game 2 matchup, but the game's pace flagged, understandably, as time went along.

Special teams were the difference, especially in the first period. Chicago went 0-of-4 with the man advantage in the first period, while the Ducks were able to open the scoring on their lone power-play opportunity on a tip-in from Patrick Maroon at 12:55.

Patrick Kane tied the game for Chicago with 57 seconds left in the opening frame, but Simon Depres' first-ever playoff goal proved to be the game-winner for Anaheim at the 19:05 mark of the second period.

The loss was Chicago's first at the United Center in the 2015 playoffs and hands home-ice advantage in the series back to Anaheim.

Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday in Chicago.
