The first round of the NHL's Stanley Cup playoffs could come to an end Monday night when the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals meet in the seventh game of their series, while the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning will confront each other in Game 6 of their matchup.
The Islanders forced a seventh game when they beat the Caps 3-1 in Game 6 at the Nassau Coliseum. The Capitals will host tonight's decisive game.
The Red Wings have a chance to close out the Lightning in Game 6 at the Joe Louis Arena. The Lightning will have to win on the road if they are going to force a seventh game, which would be played Wednesday night in Tampa.
