It's never too early to talk trophies.
Goaltenders have been a big storyline early in this NHL season, and the Vezina Trophy can only be claimed by one of them. Who will it be? There are a lot of games to be played and months to pass before we know for sure, but the last two winners aren't even on the list to be considered at this point.
Granted, we're less than a month into the action; however, it's interesting to see that Boston Bruins star Tuukka Rask and Columbus Blue Jackets backstop Sergei Bobrovsky are posting less-than-impressive numbers so far. New Vancouver Canucks starter Ryan Miller is racking up the wins, but a goalie with a save percentage under .910 isn't going to take home the hardware.
And in what world would you expect New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist to own a save percentage below .900 and a goals-against average above 3.00? Not one the Rangers want to live in.
