Greivis Vasquez Says Kevin Durant Will Lead Raptors to an NBA Title Someday

If the Oklahoma City Thunder have their way, Kevin Durant will be suiting up in orange, black and blue until the sun explodes.

At the very least, OKC hopes to hold onto its superstar forward beyond the 2016-17 season, when Durant is slated to become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NBA career.

As for the Toronto Raptors’ Greivis Vasquez, a high school teammate of Durant’s at Montrose Christian in Maryland, well, let’s just say he has some alternative plans in mind.



He then proceeded to hop on the air with TSN 1050’s Bryan Hayes and wield some straight-up Jedi mind trickery (hat-tip to CBS Sports’ James Herbert):

Hayes: It was announced 'Raptors Day' on Monday here in Toronto, and you guys just got to the first round. What do you think the city would be like if you ever won a title here?

Vasquez: Well, imagine if we get KD, Kevin Durant, 2016.

Hayes: That's your guy, too, right?

Vasquez: And he'll lead us to a championship.

Hayes: Are you calling your shot right now, Kevin Durant coming to Toronto?
